〖简介Introduction〗
机械式三环偏振控制利用光纤在外力作用下感生双折射原理制成。其中三个环分别等效为?/4、?/2、?/4 三种波片，光波进过?/4波片转换为线偏振光，再由?/2波片调整偏振方向，最后经由?/4波片将线偏振光的偏振状态变成任意的偏振态。由双折射效应产生的延迟效果主要由光纤的包层半径、光纤环绕半径和光波波长所决定，经验证该控制器可产生全方位偏振态的变化，调整的偏振态可覆盖整个庞加球。
The Mechanical Three-ring Polarization Control is made by the principle of induced birefringence of optical fiber under external force.Three rings are equivalent to wave plates of ?/4、?/2 and ?/4 respectively.Light waves are converted into linearly polarized light by ?/4 wave plates,then the polarization direction is adjusted by ?/2 wave plates.Finally,the polarization state of linearly polarized light is changed into arbitrary polarization state by ?/4 wave plates.The delay effect produced by the birefringence effect is mainly determined by the cladding radius of the fiber,the fiber ring radius and the wavelength of the light,the adjusted polarization state can cover the entire poincare sphere.
